Businesswomen from Musina Municipality were awarded certificates upon completion of their entrepreneurship skills training. The ceremony took place at De Beers Recreational Hall in Musina. The event was organized in partnership with Musina Municipality Local Economic Development (LED) Unit.
This is part of the Accelerated Women Owned Micro-Enterprises (AWOME), partnership between UN Women and De Beers Group to support women entrepreneurs in southern Africa. The initiative provides training and skills development to women micro-entrepreneurs in Botswana, Namibia and South Africa.
One of the beneficiaries, Refilwe Mareka, who recently lost her job and ventured into business, said she was grateful to have been exposed to business management skills, which will enable her to sustain and grow her new business.
