The importance of road safety was on the spotlight during the road safety awareness campaign at Tshikundamalema High School, near Masisi. An initiative by Musina Local Municipality Traffic Section, it aims at keep school children safe when using the roads at all times.

During the campaign, which was led by Musina Municipality Traffic Manager, Mr Ailwei Mutele, learners were taught about road signs and rules they should always observe when using the road. Mr. Mutele also demonstrated the correct way to cross the road.

He explained that when walking at night, learners should wear something that drivers can see from a distance, such as white clothing or a reflector. He also told them that a valid driver’s license is required to drive a car and that driving without a license is a criminal offence. The visit was very educational and helped learners understand how to stay safe on the road.
