Pollution in the storm water channel in Matswale Phase 5 was in the spotlight during the Environmental Clean up Campaign organized by the Parks and Environmental Unit of Musina Municipality. Community members joined municipal and EPWP workers in picking up paper and other waste objects that was polluting the storm water channel.

The area was so polluted that a truck and a TLB were also used to help with the work. After the clean-up, the place looked much cleaner and better.

“Keeping the environment clean is everyone’s responsibility. We can only achieve this by working as a team.” said Environment Officer Rose Chale.
